Working with The Women’s Centre Cornwall means joining a vibrant, friendly and ambitious community of women spread across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park.

We are all unique and individual women, connected by a shared purpose. We look together in the same direction, committed to our vision of a world in which women are free and empowered.

Our hope is that women in our staff and volunteer community feel as though they truly belong.

We highly value lived experience and take a positive action approach in our recruitment. We welcome women who identify with having lived experience of sexual or domestic abuse or violence, the Criminal Justice System, as well as women with disabilities and women from Black, Asian and minoritized communities.

Many of our volunteers began their journey with us by accessing support services and many of our staff, including managers, worked for us initially as volunteers.

Our staff have access to:

  • In-depth induction training on issues including sexual and domestic abuse, trauma, safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Further training opportunities on a wide range of topics related to violence against women and girls
  • Support around self-care and wellbeing and the opportunity for reflective practice, through regular one to one supervision

We are united by shared values and we regularly encourage staff to have their voices heard about how our organisation continues to grow.

Women's Practitioner - Criminal Justice (Plymouth)

30 - 37 hours per week

Women’s Practitioners work with women who are undertaking comunity sentences with probation and will provide a range of interventions to meet individual needs, aiming to prevent re-offending and empower each woman.

Women's Trauma Practitioner

18 - 37 hours per week

Trauma Practitioners offer psychoeducational support to women on probation who have experienced sexual violence and other complex traumas.

The role also involves managing referrals and trauma-informed assessments.

Women's Outreach Practitioner

25 hours per week

Assertive Outreach Practitioners offer flexible, responsive support to women facing multiple challenges, including drug and alcohol recovery, housing access, and engagement through outreach and partner agencies.

ISVA Service Manager

37.5hrs per week

The Bridge Project South West are looking for an experienced Manager to lead the ISVA Service to deliver an excellent trauma-informed and responsive service for survivors across Devon and Cornwall.

Working closely with the Women’s Centre Cornwall Management Team and the Bridge Project Partners, the postholder will embed new working practices and a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Key areas of focus will be the centring of survivors’ voices and pursuing active strategies to improve access and engagement for people who are marginalised or have other additional barriers and ensuring that all staff receive high quality line management and support with an emphasis on dynamic caseload management and staff wellbeing.
