Our Services

We believe that with the right support, any woman can have the life they want for themselves.

We offer free information and support through a wide range of projects and services based on what women and girls tell us they need.

Our services are focused on supporting women to recognise their strength.

We know that a lot of women feel isolated and unheard because of the inequality and discriminationin our society.

We take action to make sure that women can access our services and that they feel included, celebrated and valued.

The Bridge Project South West ISVA Service

The Bridge Project provides the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service, supporting adults and children who have been sexually assaulted, abused or raped across Devon & Cornwall. Our partnership brings together the collective expertise of seven highly skilled local organisations.

Our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) are specially trained and independent from the police and other services. We offer free support that is tailored to you. We will listen to you, believe you and put your wellbeing first.

Who can access our services?
Our message to all survivors of sexual and domestic abuse is that what has happened to you is not your fault and you deserve to be supported. The Women’s Centre Cornwall welcomes contact from all survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, regardless of gender - you will be received with kindness and understanding, and we will help you find the support you need, either directly with ourselves, or elsewhere.

As a proudly ‘by and for’ women’s organisation, we are committed to providing a kind and inclusive service - as well as recognising all forms of oppression and discrimination. In line with the current legal framework (link to further info here), we provide women-only services based upon sex which can only be accessed by biological or cis-women.

In addition to this, we also have gender-informed services for trans and non-binary people. Reflecting our expertise in supporting survivors of violence against women and girls, these services are most suited to those who have experienced abuse whilst being female-bodied, or being perceived as a woman (including trans and nonbinary people). If you feel that such a service may be appropriate for you, please do contact us so that we can explore your needs and see if we are the right service for you.

Note that not all of our services are women-only as we also work in partnership with a range of other providers to deliver services to people of all genders including men and boys (for example through The Bridge Project South West).
