What Is Domestic Abuse? Our Animation Film Now Available in 10 Languages

October 29, 2025

Our domestic abuse animation film is now available in 10 different languages - English, Arabic, Turkish, Dari, Polish, Ukrainian, Portuguese, Romanian, Bulgarian and Italian.

International women’s voices and experiences are at the heart of our work, and we want to continue removing language barriers to ensure that every woman can access the support she deserves.

This special multilingual animation series was created to show what domestic abuse looks like and how women in living in Cornwall can access support, in collaboration with Safer Cornwall.

Cllr Carol Mould, Cornwall Council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods, including community safety and the Safer Cornwall partnership, said: “

“One of the council’s four key priorities is to create and maintain vibrant, safe and supportive communities and this means ensuring all women who suffer domestic abuse are treated equally and with the utmost compassion, regardless of their background.

“That is why this project from The Women’s Centre Cornwall is so important;  it aims to reach all women and ensure their voices are heard. I know it will play a crucial role in the design and delivery of future services to keep all women safe from domestic abuse and sexual violence.”

Additionally, The Women’s Centre Cornwall has released a Domestic Homicide Review Report, which examines how Cornwall can improve its response to domestic abuse experienced by migrant European women. The full report can be accessed here: Domestic Homicide Review Report
