Reclaim The Night Returns to Cornwall

Violence against women and girls is not simply a ‘women’s issue’. It is a human rights crisis that is shaping the world we live in.

We must name it and face it in order to create a future rooted in safety, dignity and freedom.

We invite our wonderful community once again to gather with us as we allow ourselves to bear witness - to feel grief, joy, rage, empowerment and hope.

Last year, the storm forced us indoors but this year we hope to be out in the open and to MARCH once again!

The event will involve:

A candlelit vigil and display honouring the women whose lives have been taken by male violence across the UK this year.

Live music by Gabrielle Green.

Spoken word poetry from women in our community.

Dance performance by some amazing women from our Young Empowered Women’s group - for the first time!

A women’s march through Newquay.

Hot drinks, warmth and a safe space at Sprout Health Foods & MIX Newquay.

‍All are welcome to the vigil and performances before the women’s march.

We welcome and encourage men to stand with us.

Bring your loved ones, your voice, flowers, lights, colours, banners and the rage of your hearts as we reclaim the night together.
