More than 2,000 women across England have shared their experiences of rough sleeping through the Women's Rough Sleeping Census (WRSC).
Many of these women are at constant risk of gender-based violence and abuse, meaning they are also often underrepresented in annual figures.
The study shows that 54% of women reported sleeping in a place that would not have been included in traditional snapshot counts of rough sleeping, meaning they receive less support from outreach teams.
By listening to women's voices and lived experience, the Census reveals evidence that current homelessness systems are failing to reach and support women.
'Women across England have told us what isn't working and what it is they need.'
We support many homeless women through several of our projects - Krefta Kernow, The Open Service and our trauma stabilisation project - and they are facing the same injustices.
