Thursday 8th March 2018
The Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (WRSAC) announces its relaunch as
For the last 20 years, the charity has been at the forefront of providing innovative, therapeutic support services to women and girls in Cornwall who have experienced any form of sexual violence and/or domestic abuse.
As the organisation has listened to the women and girls in its communities over the years, its services have expanded and developed into more diverse areas of support, encompassing initiatives such as women offender work, women’s health and wellbeing and training.
In 2017, a Cabinet Office funded review conducted by the charity, also suggested that its current name may be preventing women and girls from accessing its services.
To reflect the breadth of work the charity does and improve access to its services, the time is now right for WRSAC to relaunch itself as The Women’s Centre Cornwall.
Maggie Parks, Chief Executive, says:
“This is a giant step after 20 years of creating a known and loved identity in our local community but we are determined to develop services for more women and girls, improving access for those that need them most.”
